This workshop uses hands-on learning techniques to develop the skills needed to collect, organize, manage, and assess digital materials, in order to create more meaningful learning experiences for your students. You will learn new ways to use the technology on your desktop or in your pocket to bring the full resources of the Web into your classroom. You will also develop a pedagogical framework for teaching media literacy skills to your students!

Tim Boileau, Ph.D. – New Media and Learning
Dr. Boileau earned his Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from Wayne State University. He has an M.S. Degree in Computer and Information Systems from University of Detroit Mercy, and holds undergraduate degrees in electrical engineering and software engineering. Tim has been recognized through lifetime membership in the Alpha Iota Delta Society for academic excellence and achievement, and earned the honor of “Instructional Technology Outstanding Doctoral Student” at Wayne State University.
Dr. Boileau has depth of knowledge and research, acquired through eighteen years of teaching and scholarship in higher education where his focus has been on software engineering and assurance, and instructional technology. Tim is currently a faculty member at Indiana State University where he teaches graduate level courses in instructional systems design and multimedia technology, within the Bayh College of Education. His publications include articles, book chapters, papers, and invited presentations focused on the role of technology in human knowledge development and performance.
Dr. Boileau has been on the leading edge of performance technologies for nearly three decades. As a senior level business consultant, he has broad industry experience having worked with Fortune 100 companies (including Ford, GM, Chrysler, Nissan, Kia, Merck, Chase, Avaya, Syngenta, Citrix, Oracle and Microsoft) in the automotive, banking and finance, insurance, medical, pharmaceutical, technology, housing, and agriculture industry sectors on a global scale. The common theme is in leveraging emerging technologies to consistently deliver performance-based results and increase knowledge development through distributed communities of practice.
Dr. Boileau is a certified ISO Lead Auditor (Quality and Security). He is an active member in several professional organizations, having served in leadership positions in IEEE, AECT, ISPI, and ASTD.
